Guidelines for Babies and Dairy Products Changes and Revisions

With my firstborn, when it came time to start solids with her, it was suggested that we hold off until 9-10 months before starting dairy products like cheeses and yogurts. The concern being that children needed to be protected from developing food allergies. And here I am several years later, feeding solids to my third born child and the "rules" have changed.

Recent studies have shown that delaying the start of certain foods is not necessarily advantageous to babies who have no family history of food allergies. New guidelines are out for many foods, and those changes include when you can start yogurt and cheese with your baby.

I must admit that it is quite nice not to have to worry about what foods she is eating when like I did with my oldest daughter. Now at 9 months of age, my little toothless wonder is eating many of the same foods as the rest of the family. Makes for nice and simple evening meals for all of us.
